Monday updates 1-26-15

1. Review Monday folder papers with your child.
2. Sign the Monday folder
3. Ask to see the "old Assignment Sheet" in their Homework folder.  
4. Sign the "Old Assignment Sheet" (anywhere on it).
5. Talk about the number of assignments that are written down.  There should be 37!  Congratulate your child if they are have close to 37 or more.  This is a new system for them!  It takes a while to get used too!
6. Remember we don't have a Spelling test this week... which leaves plenty of time to work on ixl, lexia, reading for AR tests and/or practicing Math Facts.
7. Look at the report for AR reader tests in the Monday folder.  The point goal should be close to 33% to be able to reach their point goal we discussed together. 
8. Place an order for Scholastic Reader online using Class Activation Code NB4KB  Our class will receive free books.
9. Please return the Volunteer form for our room parents by this Friday.
10. Remember to send your child with a winter coat to school.  We are going outside most days for recess!

Honduras Outreach ~ supplies &/or monetray donations needed

The Mass Outreach for this week and next will benefit the children in Honduras as they head back to school for a new year. There are about 250 children at the orphanage who need new backpacks and school supplies.

We are collecting:

Markers

Colored pencils
Crayons
Glue sticks or bottles
Scissors
Pens and pencils
Rulers
Protractors

No paper please- too heavy to transport

Monetary donations are also fine as the travelers can purchase needed supplies.
