Coin Tossing experiment

Yesterday we conducted an experiment.
We tossed 10 coins at a time and collected data on whether they landed
on heads or tails.

Here are our results put into a data table by Leader In Me suburbs.

Our results were heads 50.4 % of the time and
tails 49.5% of the time!

Almost 50% chance of getting heads or tails!

Math is so much fun!

The schwa sound

It's hard to always identify.
It is a rule breaker... it's not a long vowel or a short vowel.
You can identify it in the dictionary with an  ə  in the pronunciation key.
It is in an unstressed syllable.
Here are some of our Spelling words with the schwa sound circled in red.

It makes a caveman "uh" sound
like in pizza, comma, alone, idea

Remember, don't stress about it.  It's "unstressed".
You have been saying the schwa sound for years,
you just didn't know it!
