Cinco de Mayo

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo!
It commemorates the victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
Today, Cinco de Mayo is observed as a celebration of Mexican culture.

Everyone had a plate of warm chips and a cup of salsa.
Yum!

Then we ended with a sombrero cookie!
Ole!!

Hope you had a fantastic Cinco also!

"The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane"

Relaxing and reading a good book!

If you haven't ever heard about this book... ask one of my students.
It's great!

ISTEP is over

ISTEP is over for this year for 3rd grade.

My class did such a terrific job!

I am so proud of each and every student.

They showed wonderful test taking skills and stayed positive.

Here were some of the surprises they found on their desk and around the room!

I am so proud of my class.

Mirrored images

We started by folding a piece of paper in half,
then half again.
We drew a picture
then opened the paper up.

The paper had an image on only 1/4 of the paper.
We used see through mirrors (plastic) to draw the mirrored image on the other sides.

The results... very cool pictures!
