Papers with a circled Capital T, means we did this paper in class Together.
No grade was taken.
It can stay at home.

Math Facts needing to be studied?

Homework.... is not fun!

I get it!  I know.
If you (or your child) has a lot of homework from me, answer this question....
What are you doing doing our "work time" during the day?

Mrs. Feltman has 2 kids and we have 2 different soccer teams, 2 music lessons, soccer games, girls scouts, etc during the week.  Our nights are crazy too.  I don't like homework either.  I say all day long, "You need to get busy, you can get  this done in plenty of time.  You don't want it to become homework!"

The only work you have nightly is:

• read 15 + minutes
• ixl or lexia ( twice a week for 5-15 minutes is great!  longer is even better for you)
• Spelling packet (assigned on Monday with a due date on Friday) 
• any work that wasn't completed during the day (and you know we have plenty of "work time")
• study Math Facts for 5 minutes a night (only if you don't know them)

Ask your friends if they have homework.  If they are the ones that you were talking to during class... they probably have homework too! Ask your classmates.

Math Home Links

Remember that Math Home Links are to be supplementary (extra) papers for use at home.
Please place them in a 3 ring binder at home.  You can refer back to them throughout the year if you need extra help in Math while at home! (parents and students)

Parents need to read the introduction letter at the beginning of each chapter set.  This a great resource for you to have at your fingertips!

Number Grid

We use this number grid in Math.

The numbers are in a grid of 10 across in each row.

If you pick a number (54) and move over one square to the right ( +1) when you open the door on my green window you will see the new number is 55.  If you move down one row from 54 you would add 10.  The new number is 65.

moving up is - 10

moving down is +10

moving right is +1

moving left is - 1

If you look at a monthly calendar.  It is set up on a grid of 7 days in a week (row)

You would use the number 7 instead of 10.

moving up is -7

moving down is +7

moving right is still + 1

mocing left is still - 1

Have fun finding other number grids around the world.  Remember to check the number in a row before doing the Math!
