Boundaries and Limits of our Circle of Grace

We talked about different situation scenarios and our emotions caused by these scenarios!  It is good for children to be able to identify safe and unsafe situations.

God teaches us to lead a healthy life and make good choices.

Circle of Grace

We started Circle of Grade today in Religion class

Every student in 3rd grade brought home this letter to their parents today.

This is the Circle of Grace logo.

The image has great value!

The dove represents God with us in the Person of the Holy Spirit.

The figure represents a Child of God.They yellow circle represents Grace:  the goodness and love of God that is always in us and surrounding us.The blue represents the world in which we live.

We discussed precious possessions: The American Flag, special set of china, rare baseball, etc.

Religious precious items:  Consecrated Host, The Blessed Sacrament, etc.

Special behaviours we use at church: kneeling, genuflecting, reverent silence, bowing heads

We are made by God.  We are all Children of God and deserve special care and respect.

BioBlitz volunteers needed!

We will need parent volunteers (2 per family) for BioBlitz on 5/20.  Volunteers are needed from 9:30-11 to help walk students to locations and help supervise activities.

Cinco de Mayo

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo!

It commemorates the victory at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

Today, Cinco de Mayo is observed as a celebration of Mexican culture.

Everyone had a plate of warm chips and a cup of salsa.

Yum!

Then we ended with a sombrero cookie!

Ole!!

Hope you had a fantastic Cinco also!

May is for Mary

"The first day of May signals the beginning of the month when special honor is paid to Mary"
Try to pick a spot in your house to honor Mary and stop and say a "Hail Mary" everyday this month.
